Georgia jobless rate increases

Statewide, the unemployment rate jumped to 10.3 percent in December, matching the record high jobless level registered last July. The percentage of Georgians without jobs was significantly higher than the 7.5 percent recorded in December 2008, with the number of payroll jobs down by about 175,000.
